An effective way to prevent and treat common diseases, such as obesity and type 2 diabetes, is to eat more vegetables and less meat and dairy products. It is easy to get a full nutrition, with beneficial essential amino acids, protein sources, vitamins, minerals via vegetables – protein plants, vegetables and fruits.
Today, people in Sweden and the rest of the western world eat on average so much meat that we increase the risk of colon cancer, breast cancer, diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. Among other things, the World Cancer Fund and the Swedish Food Administration and the Swedish Agriculture Agency recommend that we reduce the consumption of meat and dairy products for health reasons. The average Swedish eat about twice as much meat as the global average. Meat consumption in Sweden has increased by 45 per cent since 1990.
